  1. To become aware that some individuals made great sacrifices to protect our rights
  2. To know about the lives and work of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Mohandas Gandhi
  3. To recognise the efforts that these 3 men had to make to fight for people’s rights (being sent to prison, being killed, etc)
  4. To value peaceful protests against killing and fighting
  5. To understand the concept of equality of human beings no matter what the colour of their skin is
  6. To find out about women that also changed the world
  7. To learn quotes by inspirational people and design a poster
  8. To explain the term Democracy
  9. To describe ways in which I can be an active Citizen
  10. To categorize the aims of several forms of active citizenship
  11. To value the importance of voting and elections
  12. To understand that, although they are not 18 years old, they can be active citizens and take actions that can help make the world a better place to live
  13. To think that they can have fantastic ideas and they should be heard by the people in power
  14. To identify the type of actions they can take below and over 18 years of age
